HOW-TO · ~15 MINUTES

Create an augmented reality trading card.

Photograph your card, compose the reveal in Interart's free browser editor — full-motion art on the face, stats and lore floating beside it — publish, and ship the QR code with the card. Collectors scan and point their phone; the card plays in their browser with nothing to install. One QR serves the whole print run.

Opens our example card, with a video on its face. Swap in your art and add stats and lore as text — no account needed.

Demo artwork: an original Interart design

Step by step

From printed card to living card

  1. 1

    Photograph the card

Add the card art as your artwork. Shot at an angle? Mark the four corners and it's flattened for tracking. Detailed, contrasty art tracks best.

  2. 2

    Compose the reveal

Full-motion art pinned to the face; stats, abilities and lore floating beside the physical card — layers can extend beyond the card's edges.

  3. 3

    Publish

One link and QR code per card. The AR plays in any modern phone browser — collectors install nothing.

  4. 4

Ship the QR with the card

Card back, sleeve insert, or display topper — the whole print run shares one QR, and every copy triggers the same reveal.

Checklist

What makes a card track well

Detail wins

Full-art cards with texture and contrast lock fastest. Big flat color fields give the tracker little to hold onto.

Mind the foil

Holo and foil finishes reflect — photograph them in soft, even light so the reference the tracker learns matches what cameras will see.

Standard sizes are fine

63×88 mm plays perfectly. The card is recognized by its art, not its size — business cards and oversized promos work the same way.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does a whole print run of cards share one AR design?

Yes. Every copy of the same card is the same artwork to the tracker, so a run of 200 printed cards shares one published design and one QR code. A multi-card set uses one design per distinct card.

Do standard trading card sizes work?

Yes — standard 63×88 mm cards track well as long as the art carries detail. Full-art cards are ideal; large flat color fields and heavy foil glare are the two things that make tracking harder, so photograph foil cards in soft, even light.

Can I sell AR trading cards made with Interart?

Yes — commercial use is included on every plan, including free. Sell your custom cards at conventions, in your shop, or as commissions. Only augment card art you own the rights to.

Will the cards keep working after they're sold?

Yes. Nothing you publish is ever removed by a plan change or cancellation. Every plan comes with a monthly scan allowance and never an overage charge — Pro's 10,000 a month is sized for a sold-out print run, and if you ever reach it, upgrading puts your cards straight back live.
